How long have you worked in radio?
Amazingly 35 years! Began my professional career at Q106 Albuquerque/Santa Fe in 1982. I owe it all to Steve Stucker, who heard me on KANW and hired me!
Other jobs you’ve had?
First job while attending Sandia High was at Burger King in Coronado Mall (yes, there used to be one). During college Winrock Inn Hotel, Bennigan’s Tavern, Steak & Ale, and Harrigan’s. I was also a limo driver in California for a year and a radio marketing promotions director.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. I’ve also lived in Las Cruces, Los Lunas, Santa Fe and San Diego.
Did you have a nickname as a kid?
SuperCool! And now? GelderHead!
Favorite things to eat?
Dark chocolate and green chile anything. To drink? Coffee, more coffee, red wine and coconut water. I’m starting to get into the craft beer thing too.
Favorite movies and TV shows?
A variety of likes, including super hero movies, Vacation, and Mission Impossible, although I prefer comedies. On TV The Voice, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Reno 911 and Saturday Night Live.

Dave Koz, Sting, Ottmar Liebert and Corinne Bailey Rae, Earth, Wind & Fire, Nick Colionne. I love the variety on The Oasis!

Where would you go on your Dream Vacation?
A European cruise that includes the Greek Islands.
Do you have pets?
Yes, of course! But not nearly as many as that cuddly cowboy Blake Williams. Actually only one, Oscar de la Puggle! (he’s a puggle).
Any other tidbits you’d like to share with the world?
Hmmm… I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, Kenny Loggins and Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura on Star Trek) and interviewing the cast of Cheers! Recently I was asked to announce the Southwestern Emmy Awards show in Vegas.
